It’s absolutely stressful. I feel I was doing pretty good at my job and putting a lot of efforts because I really liked doing what I was doing.

I am on a visa. My future is so uncertain anyway and this is a very bad timing for me.

I am feeling a little suicidal because of all the mental stress that I was anyway going through. I looked forward to my job and the people I was working were pretty great too.

It sucks

I'll have to delete my reddit username after posting this. I'm one of the 200.

I literally just signed on a mortgage.

I've never been laid off before. Just wanted to say I'm stressed and worried about my future. I don't have many transferrable skills that could easily land me another job, not without weeks and weeks of interview preparation, which is something that's hard to do when you're dealing with this level of anxiety. I didn't sleep at night.

Absolutely terrible decision. I supported an enterprise customer in the past and being able to reach out to US support staff was extremely beneficial. When other vendors moved to offshore support we’d constantly have to escalate and rarely get the answers we needed, and I’d end up having to figure out workarounds in my own. As a customer I’d reevaluate support contracts at this point.

I’m really you are going through this. It is a hot market, and there are a lot of partners who are hiring for GCP. But it doesn’t change the fact that a company like google should be able to give notice.

The move comes as Google has been boosting its efforts in the booming cloud-computing market to close the gap to market leaders Amazon.com Inc. and No. 2 Microsoft Corp. The battle to dominate the market to supply corporate customers with remote computing power has become among the fiercest among tech giants.

Google has had a long history operating in the cloud. For years, it rented some of its data-center capacity to other companies to process and store information. It also offered services such as email, documents and spreadsheets that store data in the cloud.

Google, in recent years, has sharpened its focus to sell such services to big corporate customers where Amazon and particularly Microsoft were securing lucrative deals. It hired Thomas Kurian, a longtime veteran of enterprise software giant Oracle Corp. , to run Google Cloud
