How many of you know that Modi didn’t contest elections until after he became a CM?

Modi never contested elections until he became the CM of Gujarat. In 1998 general elections, there was a split in the party between 2 factions lead by Keshubhai Patel and Vagela, Modi was part of the selection committee for the general elections and he sided with Keshubhai side, Keshubhai won the elections and eventually became the CM but he fell ill in 2000 and subsequently side lined. Modi was then nominated to CM post by LK Advani following the events. In 2002, he contested elections from Rajkot and won as a MLA for the first time.

2002 Godra incident happened just 2 weeks after he entered the office in 2002 and manoni sudi dasha disha tirigipoyindi akkada nundi, he even became bigger than party founder LK Advani after that and eventually the most popular leader in India

No Keshubhai passed away and then the CM seat became vacant

Anta kismat ka khel..LK advani party petti, hindu harliner paty ga chesindi ayane and a pity he was relegated to nothing and he was openly snubbed by Modi many a times, Janta party and Jan Sang was never about religion, Advani made it following babri masjid issue.

Abuse of power, and rising in fighting among patels and by-election loss in local elections led to change in leadership and Modi was promoted to the job.

Keshubhai was pretty much alive till 2020. All the three times when Modi won state election, he drove to Keshubhai house and seemed his blessings..
