Thanks to RDSO engineers for development and Congress (UPA-2) govt for funding in 2012. A pilot project was implemented in South Central Railway in 2013-14 which was successful. Then BJP govt came and project went to dormant stage, now they changed name and doing PR.

What is Kavach? 

It is India’s very own automatic protection system in development since 2012, under the name Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), which got rechristened to Kavach or “armour”.
