Popular Post hyperbole Posted March 8, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted March 8, 2022 The magnitude of this project is unbelievable and a true testimony to their vision, hardwork and execution. The execution time note worthy, with mallanna sagar competition they executed the project in 5 years. This would’ve been a 30-50 years project had we stuck to typical irrigation projects timelines. The project has too links/risks for it to break at any point. Underground pumps of that size is truely an engineering marvel. Enko note worthy point enti ante KCR admiration for public services companies, BHEL was involved in a big way since he took over as a CM and the project success is a testament to their engineering and hardwork, even the 40k Yadadri power project is being handled by BHEL. 1 2 Quote

BHEL was sitting on cancelled orders, and it has machinery ready to be installed and this was the primary reason to choose BHEL as project partner for Yadadri and other machinery. Supreme Court cancelled coal block allocations and with this order, about a dozen thermal power projects in private sector in the country faced uncertainty for which BHEL was the main equipment supplier. Normally it would take 2 years on average for the equipment set up, but after coal block cancellation the equipment which was ready was sitting idle and ready to go but no takers due to court orders. This was the opportunity and a win win situation for KCR and BHEL and TG. 1 1 Quote

I had my doubts about all PSUs but they exceeded my expectations and the documentary portrays their role in this project in an awesome way. Glad they proved me so wrong on what they are capable of 1 Quote
andhra_jp Posted March 8, 2022 Report Posted March 8, 2022 The overall objective of entire KLIP is to pump 2 TMC of water from Godavari to irrigate 18 lakh ac, and provide water to industry and urban areas. The KLIP estimated capital cost in Detailed project report, DPR was of Rs.80,000 crores. This reported to have increased to Rs.100,000 crores. In order to irrigate 2,85,000 ac, as stated, at least 45 TMC of water is required. This means the tank has to be filled three times at least. In order to pump 1 TMC of water from Medigadda at least Rs.50 crores of electricity is required at Rs.5 unit cost. This means in order to get the required water, 45 TMC to irrigate 2,85,000 ac, the electricity cost would be close to Rs. 2,200 crores. So every year, Government of Telangana has to spend two times more money over the projected benefits to the farmer Quote

So every year, Government of Telangana has to spend two times more money over the projected benefits to the farmer As per recent GOI records so far 80k crores has been spent the peak demand would be 5-7k crores if all the motors run in all phases but that’s not a likely case, they can skip pumping (reverse pumping) first 3 phases because a good monsoon would bring water to srsp, yellampally and subsequently to lower manair dam by gravity and flood canals via godavari, this is the case happening last 3 years with good monsoon. pumping from pranahita to Godavari is only required when there is no downstream water in Godavari frkm Maharashtra. That ingenuity of this project is that water can be made flow both directions (Godavari to downstream and pranahita to Godavari in reverse direction) and not only that it also uses river basin as the storage in first 3 phases. It can be confusing to people who don’t understand this, so in a good monsoon those 2200 crores can be saved if the upper Godavari(from Maharashtra) fills these reservoirs Quote
andhra_jp Posted March 8, 2022 Report Posted March 8, 2022 In our investigation, TNM found that Rajat Kumar’s daughter’s wedding was planned and executed by Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited — a company that has won several big contracts in the Rs 1.15 lakh crore Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, which is overseen by the Irrigation department under Rajat Kumar. The wedding was also partly sponsored by a shell company, whose invoices were coordinated by MEIL. Chief Minister KCR, who has now claimed he is unaware of the allegations and said, “Some dog must have said so.” KCR holds the irrigation portfolio for the state. The investigation by TNM revealed that a mystery company called BigWave Infra Private Limited was billed at least Rs 23 lakh to the Taj Group of Hotels for Rajat Kumar’s daughter’s wedding in December 2021. Further, the wedding gala was coordinated by MEIL — a high profile company with several government contracts. The invoices for BigWave were routed through MEIL executives, raising questions about whether BigWave is a shell company with connections to MEIL. https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/kcr-claims-he-unaware-corruption-allegations-rajat-kumar-ias-exposed-tnm-160493 Quote
