The thread is full of gems that no one else saw fit to point out. 

It all boils down to this : 

No one would give a rat's behind about this "crisis" if Ukranians weren't blue eyed and blonde haired. It would have been treated as any other run of the mill bs conflicts that pepper the planet.

What you're suggesting is a false equivalency. 

That kind of prejudice - based on race or not - exists in all countries to varying degrees. India is not an outlier in any sense. I'm positive we have a long way to go in our post-colonial journey & by no means am I discounting that we have deep seated flaws. But we still need to exist as a strong geo-political unit on the global stage to be able to correct those flaws. If you dont have a country you have nothing.
