Minor travel with below 6 months passport expiration

My daughter's US passport is going expire in Oct, 2022. We have a plan to travel in April and return by May 15, 2022. Will be there any problem in the port of entries (India - landing time and US return time)? Expiration time is little less than 6 months.  Did anyone travel(minor) with passport expiration is less than 6 months? If i apply renewal , I dont think will get new and old passports before travel.

No issues; even if it is about to expire also no issue - in your case it expires after trip - so don’t worry. We went India and applied new passport there for our kids as it would be expiring before our return.

I think if it’s less than 6 months before expiry you can’t travel, I might be wrong

Not true - you can travel even if it is going to expire soon as well. But the rule is to have valid document at travel time.

I took new passport in HYD consulate- even last year my mom came US with 1 month validity and we extended here in Indian embassy - so no one says no to travel.

No issues at all.

6months expiry is for Visa not travel

they will bot give visa if ur passport has 6 months validity unless emergency 

so good to go
