When china tried to control in a similiar way in wuhan - it was similarly shown as something dystopian that can happen only in china. our desi whatsapps are all full of jokes on chinese suffering, many taking a chance to attack non-veg eating habits (because they cannot directly attach meat eating indians or whites). If they showed some baic sympathy, understanding and appreciation world would have better prepared for covid.
