Anta Assamey Posted April 21, 2022 Report Posted April 21, 2022 Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday warned that the party will continue to remain in the opposition, if the seniors in the party did not take active part in securing votes for the party. “We definitely respect the seniority in the party. At the same time, we acknowledge the sincerity, too. What is the point if there is no sincerity among the seniors?” he asked, while launching the party’s digital and paperless membership drive aimed at taking enrollment closer to supporters in the two Telugu states and abroad. He wondered how the seniority among the leaders would help the party, if they were not in a position to convince the people to vote for the TDP. “If such leaders who can’t fetch votes to the party continue to demand priority in the positions, then the TDP will remain in the opposition forever,” he said. Naidu said he was committed to his decision to giving 40 per cent of the party tickets to the youth in the next assembly elections. “Some descendants of senior leaders have come into politics, while some others are confined to jobs and employment. We are inviting even the neutrals among the youth into the party,” he said. He said all the youth leaders in the party would be given due recognition and opportunities. He gave a call to all like-minded people to join the party to help in the 'reconstruction of the AP State'. Even the neutral people not having any political affiliations can extend their support. Naidu said the TDP would always look at its members as a family by giving them political, financial, educational and health empowerment at every step. He said the party would remain indebted to the activists who made supreme sacrifices in the fight against rivals. Naidu called upon the party activists and general public to make use of social media more effectively to expose the YCP Government's financial burdens. Even uneducated persons were taking videos on increased taxes and they were going viral on social media. Personal stories and testimonials would leave a strong impact on society. Quote
