Sanjiv Posted October 26, 2023 Report Posted October 26, 2023 On 4/25/2022 at 10:34 AM, anna_gari_maata said: Well depends on how you are balancing kids life.. video games are not that evil that you're suggesting to be. Just your illusion and probably some taboo ' "I don't care" what anyone says... iPad mini if you buy legos, how long can anyone play with just one game? if you buy a bat/ball, how long can anyone play with it without getting bored?? any single game will become boring quickly for anyone and these are very, very "limiting". AppStore games are dirt cheap, you can have multiple high-quality games with replay value and these games don't "break" like regular toys needing replacement. There are even high-quality educational apps!! Games and apps improve cognitive skills. It's not a Wii that you are tied to the living room - you can take the mini with you anywhere. it's not fair you have an iPhone, iPad but want to deprive your "own" kids of these until they are 10 or 15. That's like you are enjoying your life in USA but want your kids to grow up in India. That's cruel and heartless. There is no excuse for that. in our childhood days, it was unfortunate we grew up and schooled without using any tech because it was non-existent/unaffordable and we cannot impose those same old, outdated, primitive standards on our kids in this day and age and think whatever we believe is right - even before trying them out? Wrong! There are something called Parental Controls on mobile devices and tablets and learn how to use them without depriving your "own" kids of tech while the rest of the world is blowing past your kids leaving them in dust. Do you want your kids to lag behind the rest of the world? Even schools are using iPads for a reason. What do you say about that?? Quote

Its a good bonding session with parents as well. Its FREE. After completion they give a badge. Check it out. Ya we do it bro.... every first saturday of the month in our town. 1 Quote

AvramFaind Posted November 10, 2023 Report Posted November 10, 2023 I completely understand your perspective on video games and their role in a child's development, Sanjiv. It's true that technology, when used mindfully, can offer many benefits to kids. AppStore games indeed provide a variety of options, including educational ones, and they can be a cost-effective way to keep children engaged. On the topic of games for a 4-year-old, if you're looking for a fantastic one, you might want to check out Homescapes. You can learn more about it on various websites and even find a fantastic one with a Homescapes Hack. It can be a fun and interactive way for kids to enjoy gaming while also honing problem-solving skills. Quote

Trumpism Posted December 12, 2024 Report Posted December 12, 2024 For a 4-year-old, try kid-friendly games like "Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay" or "LEGO DUPLO World", which are educational and fun. These games are simple, colorful, and designed for young kids to enjoy. My son and I used to play CSGO a lot, I didn't play for many years so I searched the internet for How to Get Better at CSGO, and now I play in my free time. Quote
SamanthaPotineni Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 The Wii is definitely a solid choice for improving hand-eye coordination, especially with games that involve motion controls like Wii Sports or Just Dance. Quote
saikiran347 Posted January 9 Report Posted January 9 The interactive nature of those games gets kids moving, and they can have fun while developing their coordination. Another option might be the Nintendo Switch if you're looking for something more versatile with a wider selection of games that also encourage movement, like Ring Fit Adventure. If you’re also into games for yourself, CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) is a great choice for developing quick reflexes and strategy. It’s not for kids, but if you’re interested in something that involves skill and trading, buying and selling skins can add a whole new level of fun. SkinsMonkey makes it easy to trade, so if you’re ever into it, you can check out their platform for all things related to skins. Quote
