Several water districts have instituted water conservation measures. On Tuesday, the board of the East Bay Municipal Utility District voted to reduce water usage by 10% and cap daily usage for some 1.4 million customers in Contra Costa and Alameda counties, including Oakland and Berkeley. Households will be allowed to use 1,646 gallons (6,231 litres) per day - far above the average household usage of about 200 gallons (757 litres) daily - and the agency expected that only 1% to 2% of customers will exceed the limit, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The Metropolitan Water District restrictions apply to areas of Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino counties that rely mostly on state water supplied through the district, including some parts of Los Angeles city. Mainly urban areas are impacted.

In last few years city has secured 50 tmc of water from Godavari/krishna/singur/manjeera. They are not even drawing water from Gandipet now

Used to…not anymore. You can still see tankers here and there who does not have a proper water connection yet or commercial line…ground water levels have also increased a lot..overall ga Hyd la Okappudu vunnantha water problem aithe ledu ipudu..

Manikonda and hitech city were impacted as latest as 1-2 years ago since they were not connected to Krishna/Godavari and high terrain . Along the ORR now they completed pipe connectivity linking both Godavari and Krishna sources, they call it a ring main meaning they can draw water from any source given the situation and they will be able to supplement any supply constraints.

Gandipet enduku tolla tamu leddu, for GO111, KCR once in life time kabja plan.....Gandipet water is of no use, memu low level nunchi pumping chestamu antadu....

Does that mean hyderabadi's are getting access to 24*7 piped water ? 

Otherwise Hyderabad still has water problems ..it's just better than other shitty cities

It's laughable to compare California to any palce in india , the shortages they are facing are mostly limited to agriculture due to droughts 

Most Households still get 24*7 water supply , only a few a facing small reduction 

I believe only 2-3% of Mumbai have access to 24*7 water connection
