Nenu masters in Applied microbiology &biotechnology chesi chivariki IT ki vacha.

but my friends are working in research and pharma companies with good packages

To be very straight and blunt …. Don’t pick anything else other than Bioinformatics… unless you have a real zeal for research and passion and only if you are up for a tough long road…. Being in the field for so long and looking at the future I would discourage anything other than Bioinformatics …
