Where this "ba" thing came from ?

Growing up i heard many things starting from common "ra" to "arey" to "rey" to "vorey"  - i picked this "ba" from this forum only. who started this ? a movie ?

It’s a short form of Bava… andhra side baaga use chestaru

Baa is short of baava!! Which is also used like ra, rei, babai, orai etc

Interesting. I actually thought its short of "abba" used in some regions like yendhabba

Thats my guess - it came from movies. Andhra lo nenaithe choodale - when i was a kid.

This term came into existance in the recent past….May be a decade or a bit more but I never heard this word while I was in India…None of my Andhra friends never spoke this word.

Naa real life lo mostly pulka friends esp from Andhra ba ba antuntaaru so I call them baa as well

Telangana teddies mama antaru so I call them mama as well

Oka telangana non teddy babai antadu so I call him babai

Andhra onion friends mastaaru antaru nenu vallani ade anta
