Move to Louisiana or Alabama.

Go to low cost, low tax states like Florida… avoid Texas or California if you want to buy a home..

Move to San Antonio. It’s affordable, good weather and close to Austin. Also you will save state tax. Just rent there in Texas. You will get an amazing double bed room for 1000$ 
 

But don’t buy a home in Texas ever. It has high property taxes. My 2 cents.
