Jump dead car battery

How much is too long to jump a dead car battery? Didn’t use it for long time. Tried to jump it for 5-10 mins, lights turned on but engine did not,  and  smart charger is still not recognizing the battery.

Change the battery, go to nearest auto zone or advanced auto parts and replace it… hardly ten minutes work to replace the battery
