Mobile app development for passive income

Recommended Posts

Planning to work on some side project for passive income. I'm thinking mobile app (mostly game) development. Anyone here has experience with it and share your experience? I know it's a crowded space but want to try it out and see and looking for suggestions from experts.

I tried it around 5-6 years ago... It's not worth your time unless you have some crazy idea and considerable marketing budget.

I made some games (within 5k-10k installs range) but I quit after some time. Indie devs have to manage coding, graphic design, marketing all by themselves while the big companies have multiple people working for them.

Nee daggara edaina ground-breaking idea unte, then evaritho aina collaborate ayyi cheyochu. Simple apps & games kooda chaala mandi reskinning chestunnaru, so vaallatho compete cheyyatam kooda kashtam. Konni blackhat tactics use chesi kontha mandi 500-1000 apps upload chestaru. Manam well-established companies antha quality tho aina cheyyali, otherwise blackhat tactics tho short-term gains aina chusukovali. Edo oka raayi vesi chuddam anukunte workout avvadu.

Why don’t u develop apps for small businesses if u know how to create apps… instead of creating gaming apps which is a huge crowded space

If you're thinking of adding a small game to boost user engagement, make sure you follow the best practices for managing game development assets so things stay smooth as your app grows. I learned the hard way that keeping all game graphics, sounds, and scripts organized from the start makes updates a lot easier later. Also helps if you ever switch developers or need to reuse stuff for another project.
