no gap needed....need a strong reason if visiting frequently especially when stay duration is long....vallu already 1 year undi malla 3 months ke inko 6 months ki vasta ante etla

no hard rules for tourists, 

ala ani 6 months ipoyaka, 2 days taravtha exit and entry istey, depends on mood of officer, but for sure questions adugutharu, if they feel ok, they will let in. mostly they will ask questions and let in, 

the hole purpose is they want to make sure parents are not working on b1b2 visa anthe, and frequent vists with short gaps trigger a question that may be these guys are working kadha ? so be prepared for that...
