Depends if he has any other health conditions. Without any other major health concerns, initially it will painful but once he recovers, he will have a better life style. 
70s lo knee pains tho roju pain killer tho suffer ayye kante knee replacement is 100% better.

DR. Gurava Reddy, Sunshine hospitals..famous for knee replacement. Ma iddaru attamma lu thana daggarr chepincharu few years back and they are doing very well now

Usually implants can be there for 15-20 yrs minimum so people around 70 Yrs can easily go ahead for surgery..

After surgery rehab can be done and then they will be normal..

Gurava Reddy & Akhil Daadi are top ones I know..

worth trying it, it was painful to see my MOM suffering so much until I managed to convince her and complete the replacement. am happy now. she is 65, 70 doesn't matter but always depends on the doctor and our luck on how the surgery goes. all the best man, the least we can do to them.

There is nothing like a specific answer…each case is different.

It also depends on the other knee. 
 

70 with arthritis and other existing health problems emana severe ga vunte cheyala povadam better especially if the other is fine..70 degara kuda mazboot tandorust body vunte kotha chippa epichi padeseyi back to back for both the knees

My father got it done at 60. At Sunshine Hospitals and doctor’s name is Akhil Dadi. My father who didn’t walk more than 15-20 steps with his knee problems, is able to walk 1-2 kms per day now after the surgery. He got his surgery done in 2012. Ten years of successful walking.. If your uncle is physically and mentally strong, I’d suggest him to go for the surgery. First 3-6 months of physiotherapy after the surgery is very crucial for the success. After that he can walk normally.
