They need both senate and Congress majority to do that. I don’t think dems had control over senate for the last 10years atleast.

I understand there is no consensus. I respect that. However I’m also not convinced by their logic that amendments are permanent and it is unamerican to alter them.
 

There are some logical fallacies in their paradigm about amendments. Thats my point.

They are not permanent, just harder to get rid of for a very good reason. Bill of rights is a very thought out , well debated document. You need to read the federalist papers to understand all of the reasoning. You may think they are not applicable today but they are. 
the later amendments are also proof that the system works when done properly. Quick fixes chesthe it’ll be a ragged cloth.
