Among the many talented directors in Tollywood, there are only those chosen few who have a certain legacy and range. One among them is Darsakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao. Over decades, he has carved a niche for himself and became like a lighthouse to aspiring actors and directors.
 

Now, Dasari seems to have announced his successor and it is none other than the crazy director Puri Jagannadh. This was revealed publicly by Puri himself on his Twitter account. Apparently, Dasari saw the recent release Temper and reportedly declared that his ‘Vaarasudu’ is only Puri Jagannadh.
 

Those who heard this are saying Dasari must have been struck on two factors- one, the emotion in the movie connected to the sister sentiment. Two, bringing out such high octane performance from Junior NTR which captures your total attention and keeps you glued to the screens.  This really is an unforgettable compliment for Puri.

Dasari Narayana Rao's strength is drama. It worked very well for the generation who read Telugu literature and watched dramas. It failed miserably as soon as televisions became popular. Dasari couldn't bounce back.

Puri Jagannadh's strength is hero characterization & punch dialogues. Present pilla fooku heroes & directors kooda ade template follow avutunnaru. so, Puri's formula baaga routine aipoindi. But still fade out avvakunda madhya madhyalo hits isthunnadu.

Only comparison between them is that they can't reinvent themselves with the changing trends.
