One of my friend had similar family issue.. he spoke to the manager and left… he was back after four or five months and re-joined… not every manager is a d1ck… talk to them and explain your situation instead of putting yourself at risk

if you get caught you will be fired i.e let go from contract, and dont risk with VPN, as this is not recommended, And US states and Federal Contracts you cannot work from other countries period

I used to Work For core Federal client, they never let me use any VPN service other than Federal provided one. Ask your manager about leave, as you cannot get exceptions to work from other countries

until data is not compromised you are good, But federal and state projects will not allow to work from Other countries, I worked for SSA project, they stated i cannot work from other countries

Cheppalemu bhayya. Totally depends on project. Working from other countries is not allowed for a reason. When someone breaks that, there is every reason to proceed legally. Will client take the headache to proceed legally is different Q.
