Not making any fuss and not misleading anyone with bad advice. Just because it worked for you doesn't mean it would work for everyone.

My wife who works at google had a 4 yr cliff recently. She bought this up with her mgr and the advice she got is to get external offer and then they can try to match. This is reality in many companies now. Mgrs powers are being taken away while giving hikes and bonus. Mgrs will be only handy for counter offers…

When I suggested not to accept the counter offer, you did not want to agree. When I posted pro advice from various sources, you feel offended? You are saying amateur advice on AFDB is better than advice from pros on Google?? haha  If things have changed, those articles would have been updated too.

If you got only 3-5 dollars or 10 dollars raise, the client may not feel the pinch and it may work out. But if the difference is 50K or more, it would likely result in a fiasco with a replacement soon. It's what history says from majority of the cases.

Things won't be the same again once you accept counter offer.

You will feel the client gave you a raise only because you got a better offer.

The client will feel you blackmailed them and stayed back only because you were given a raise.

You won't know if the client kept you for the time being until they found a replacement and when the client will replace you.

The client doesn't know when you will leave (happens mostly) because you showed lack of loyalty. What’s the guarantee you won’t find even a better job again?

What kind of job situation will that be?

IT lo no loyality, its like you can leave and i can fire in all companies, vallu emi dharama starlu nadampaledu, its all depends on lots of things. i did say some live examples, na frd circle lo kuda chusa, i dont know your exp but, na examples cheppa kani, dont not accept or accept ani chepale, AS i said IT ALL DEPENDS on Lots of things.
