Giving away too much is an ego issue. One should do everything with discretion.

Some big families lost everything in donations. I know few from Rayalaseema area. Their grand fathers donated hundreds of acres, now their own grand sons are doing agriculture in 3 acres land. They live very substandard life. It’s such a crappy mistake on their grand fathers part.
