dissolution of soviet union also ended largely the legitimacy of socialism (except in china and few other countries) till now.

Lot of indians too got hyperinfluenced that american style capitalism is the only way.

Even CBN was to some extent a product of the times. In 2004 he opposed free electricity which now no politician will dare. He genuinely believed that market capitalism must take care of things.
