Not sure about US discounts. I'm paying less than $2.5 per month by subscribing to YouTube India family plan and it works here without any issue.

Are you paying $4 for YouTube India plan? It's around 180 rupees when I subscribed 2 years back... it comes to less than $2.5 monthly.
