Why director thought it's important to know about her real identity? 

He could have died without knowing who she is

they are married by then, she is like converted types indirectly, and also from beginning director concentrated more on sita than noorjahan, after marriage he always mentioned her as sita, but not noorjahan, she also liked it, by her looks saree with kumkam on forehead, i don't see this as an issue, wife doesn't have any issues being called as sita, as she wants husband to be happy, so husband also continued that. Their relationship is like eternal man, in such relationships partners would care to go any extent to make other happy. True relationship.
