What oppressed people?? He and the Devineni family are partners and then later became rivals. Ranga killed two brothers of Devineni Nehru and Nehru killed Ranga. ** for tat. Ranga tried to hide behind kapu tag but all his life he worked for and with Kamma rowdies and leaders. He even married a kamma woman. Congress tried to own him and give him a kapu leader tag as it wanted to defeat the communist domination in vijayawada (which Ranga was also a part of initially) and bring division between the Kamma and Kapu groups in the region. 
he was no messiah but just a rowdy and leader who wanted to dominate his rivals and the region..
