I have been in similar situation as you early this year.He is first time manager and used to micro manage a lot.I found it extremely hard to work with him.Meetings all day long and used to ping as soon as you are green in Skype.Meetings after 4:30 even on fridays.I was scared to let it go though it is extremely toxic to work under such manager but somehow left and found an wonderful project.

so dont beat urself and let this position go.Priortize ur self and ur happiness
