Simple , transaction cost is 0 but entire western financial products are based on fees.

Pleasantly surprised when j saw in action last year..

1 to 3 % fees has to stop and points , Cashback etc will come down (think about it, at this rate after just handful of exchanges 1.00 currency becomes 0.5 ).

Only benefit I see is some protection for fraud charges etc , but that can be added at fraction of entire cost

I meant customer protection that these cards offer - say if you buy an item and if it's not received then you can dispute it.
