B1 visa i94 potential over-stay

Hello, My father-in-law i-94 expires on 11/13 which is 1 week before the 6 month period as he arrived on May 19th. I was under the impression that they can stay the full 6 months so I booked the return flight on Nov 18th. However I just noticed that i-94 expires on 11/13. Should I pre-pone to 11/13 or before?

Any ideas or experiences like mine?

Yes, you need to prepone or file for an extension.
