Is it new normal for US universities to ask for initial deposit before visa ?

Friend cousin ki US state university lo admission letter ochindi India ki. That letter said to pay $5000 out of $25000 tuition before visa. Visa deny ayithey refund chestam antunnaru. Is it normal ? 
I never hear about this

Shady undhi, frst they ll send i20 and then after approval of visa, before orientation date they need to pay sem fee

konchem thedaaa gaaa undhiii yevvaram....But universities are in lot of debt due to lack of student enrollment. Anything is fossible. Do all due diligence  Yeee university antaa?

yes, most of universities aduguthunnaru , maa cousin valla sister got admission but I20 release cheyyalantee fee kattamannarantaa 3k

Its not fishy its the new normal now many universities are doing this now.

 

Refund may take more than 3 months fyi.

Yes it’s possible bcuz mananollu first sem kooda jump koduthunnaru after landing if they have other i20s with less fees

exactly, this is possible due to latkor batch that are landing here and not even showing up at universities and do a sevis transfer

with this step, their intention to pursue or not will be batta bayal aitadi
