It's started more after bodi gadu came..quora post..inthaka mundu vunna anthala force cheyaledu..ippudu chala ekkuva aindi..jagga gadu ippudu nore lepithe malli nuvve modi ni bodi antav..

The central government since 2014 has been pushing Hindi at unprecedented levels.

As per my cousin who works as a scientist under central govt in Noida, after 2014, the government offices in the country is divided into three groups. Ka, kha, and Ga.

Ka is where she belong. Those are the places where Hindi is the main language. There almost all written communication is in Hindi only and YOU HAVE TO REPLY IN HINDI. If you are coming from a state like Tamil Nadu, where you had not studied Hindi in school, you would be trained in Hindi. The leave letter, the communications to admin for repairs, the intimations from office to staff etc, all in Hindi.

If you are transferred from a branch in Chennai to Noida, it is the same.

Luckily, since true science owes much to the west, and science terms are in english, they cant do anything about introducing Hindi when journals and publications comes out from her office. Another hazard is, since they are collaborating with a lot of “friendly countries” It has to be English.

The only good thing I found in studying Hindi when in school was when I read some of Hindu texts like Gita and Manusmrithi in Sanskrit, digging for the entrenched caste in them. Malayalam has more of sanskrit than present day Hindi, but has a dravidian script.

My kid who is studying in chennai has taken french as her third language after English and Tamil. I advised her to take Spanish which i learnt a bit while abroad, but spanish is not available there. At least you could read some of world’s great books without the loss in translation. Why go for Hindi which will not benefit in any way whatsoever?
