Always shave immediately after shower. Shower lo it helps to smoothen the hair and gives a clean shave. 

Always avoid shaving in the opposite direction of hair growth.

Use Aveeno shaving gel and after shave. Its dermatologist recommended and helps a lot with razor bumps.
