Anyone installed Stairs lift for parents?

One of my friends did this - he has 2 turns, so it costed a lot of money.  

Some houses have 2 stairs - one straight up- that one is easy and cheap. 

He said he should have spent the money on upgrading the main level bathroom to full bath and making office room to bedroom. Something you should consider

I have a bedroom in the ground floor and kitchen and living area is on 2nd floor, and i heard if the steps are straight it will cost less, can you please check and let us know?
