Model x design decisions set it back few years, if not Tesla would be at top back in 2016 .

This is even riskier bet compared to that. 

Competition is way behind in execution, so as long as they produce vehicles in thousands and not millions market will wait for them. 

400k f-150s were waiting in parking lots, as Ford doesn't know how to write firmware for new chip.

People underestimate the software advantage that Tesla has
