India's greatest epic movie director??

okay. maniratnam with PS1 has proved that he has no clue on how to make epic movies, even though PS1 is not a bad film.. its definitely not EPIC. so he's not in the running.

rajamouli, though I absolutely hate him, i have to admit that he does have some skills that translate to decent EPIC movies. He needs a great story.. Like the Tamil novel Velpaari.. not fcuking bahubali type generic bs. but baahubali and RRR are the only ones that pass basic smell test for epic movies in India.

Shankar... hmmm... no idea what to think about him. can he make a good epic movie? his aesthetic choices are weird. like in that movie 'I'.

I didnt watch manikarnika, pritviraj, tanhaji, and that sort.

There's no good epic movie in India. no wonder Rajamouli is popular with his half baked attempts there. He's the only one that got closest.

Okay Selvaraghavan made one great epic movie.. the greatest Indian epic i've seen. Yuganiki Okkadu.

but he's fallen off the radar since, making pointless psycho husband thrillers that go nowhere.

epic doesn't mean just historical.. any movie that is grand in scale. even sci fi, war etc, that capture hawkeye pov of the action instead of getting bogged down with personal drama.

Rajamouli, if he fires Rama Rajamouli from ever stepping foot in his sets, his movies will get much better to look at. and get a better story writer than his outdated dad.
