I think you missed his point.  Your son maybe creative but if he cannot beat other creative kids then he may end up with a very different life.

Faang developers get 400k in usa - same developer showing similiar skills gets 30k in india working for another company - just because he did not get visa or did not do well in some interview one day- he is punished by 10 times more.

What about all those creative people who make nothing - all the artists etc - just because no one picked them up and promoted them on big screen.

he is talking about the system - you made it about a skill you need to add to your son to be further competitive

One more thing ..even if you beat odds and get something ..you still have competition from youth.

Ofcourse thats why lot of govts have put up social safety nets ..but they are barely enough.

Every human being has his/her place in this world.. you don’t have to be Uber successful or make a million a year to be happy or called successful… you don’t have to compete with every other person in your circle… you can coexist without competing..
