You do not give enough credit to our elders. There was a movie on IUI traditional surrogacy in 80s or early 90s with Sobhan Babu and Jayasudha. Also a serial on surrogacy was also there on DD. Avi telisina instances. Teliyanivi enno. In fact commercial movies pakkana pedithe those days art directors created masterpieces on bold subjects.

70s 80s were golden period for both tamil  cinema. likely it was the same for telugu cinema too.

feminist movies the kind of which they can't make even today were made in the 70s.

Correct but this movie is not a paata chintakai pachadi as op stated..

My issue is worth treatment - how the main conflict point is introduced.... 

We were about 10 people watching, all with diff taste and almost all felt the same ...

Before interval and later portions were handled well.
