Maa buddodini Pre-register chesanu Kindergarten 2023-24 ki.  I got an email from Student Enrollment Department

"We don’t have an exact date when open enrollment will be for elementary students. We anticipate  sometime between Jan and March."

 

Already pre-register chesanu ga malla open enrollment endi?

Also school selection edo untundi antunnaru,

konthamandi nee area batti school untundi antunnaru.

 

I'm really confused. Jan lo India Trip kooda undi. Can anyone walk me through the next steps pls

docs check chesi you stay in the same area ani confirm chestharu. Rest will be communicated through emails on school start date, bus details etc.

Open enrollment is more of docs checking and making sure you are local to that county.. and kids DOB must. And kids medical records adhe vaccinations report pediatrician nunchi ivvali… 

Next step antu em ledu.. school will send communication every time on kids pick up drop off, open house (one week mundu usually ga school ki velli teacher ni kalavadam) 

just look out for their emails and communication… nothing to worry baaa.. first time super nervous vuntadi but it’s very easy process and we’ll organized here

why asking all these questions man? Your kid has to go through it good or bad.You will get to know soon.

Education is quite good in FL. Our friends who moved from CA say it the other way though.

There are two kinds of public elementary schools:

- neighborhood school / assigned  school: If you live in the assigned school zone, admission is mostly guaranteed, unless it is overcrowded, it could be first come first serve then  u go to overflow school.  Good neighborhood schools offer 'gifted program' to certified gifted kids. Gifted kids go through a special challenging curriculum if you would like.

   School zone assignment can be found from county website. It also gives the school bus route maps / schedules. 

-  Choice schools: IB kind of curriculum but there is usually lottery process. Need to apply by Dec for the lottery process. Check with county website. There are nationally acclaimed blue ribbon schools as well among them.

Middle and high schools also go in the similar lines.

Undergrad is even better. In-state tuition is super cheap but who cares, it is 100% free if you maintain decent GPA.
