Urgent passport question

my spouse passport is expiring in july 2023

can we complete ds-160 and book for dropbox and then apply for new passport? 

or new passport vachaka ds-160 complete cheyala?

we are thinking of traveling in between march-june 2023

passport 6months validity lekapothe can she travel? will she get visa?

If you are in usa, I think you can renew your passport full one year ahead. 
 

so can you renew now and have new passport in india for Visa stamping.

if passport is valid only less than 6 months ... u will not be allowed to board the flight ... u can only board a flight that is directly going to home country (india) .. but most of the airlines do not honor this rule including air india ... if u call them they will say u will not be allowed to board !! pathetic .. 

so best option is to renew the passport now ! ... in US tatkal is half day affair ... regular may take anywhere from 3-6 weeks ...  (mailing it to consulate etc ) ... 

do a tatkal renew so .. u r safe for travel n u dont have to change the ds 160 .. if u want to change passport on ds 160 .. u will be asked to file new 160 ...
