Got a call from Desi call center saying we will pay your utilities bill and you pay us back half the amount...

She called from CA, Hindi speaking... Offer to pay any utilities bill, started with cell phone bill saying it's easy . She will pay 600$ and I've to transfer 300$ back.

I think either

1. They are using stolen credit cards to pay ( tx can be revoked later ?)

2. Or stolen bank accounts to transfer money.

She wants first page of the bill to her Whatsapp. Of course I didn't respond...

anyone got this type of calls?

These call centers became very common lately. They can buy anything online for you including furniture, uber, uber eats, utilities, etc. Pretty much everything.

But how do they do this? 

Is it safe for us to use their services?

Don’t take any call from unknown unless you are expecting someone to call you.

6 months ago friend also gave this whats app group, where you can order what ever you want online and only pay them half the money..

naku enduko idantha new sense ani pinchi never used it,,

Don’t get involved in these things.. if you are using a service, you better pay for it using your hard earned money instead of going for shortcuts.. you never know what kind of scam you will become part of.. knowingly or unknowingly you are cheating someone or some company.. also if you get something delivered, they will have your address and phone number on file..

it is better not to engage with scammers, few times cut cheste. they dont call back.. else they share the same data between themselves
