JANASENA Posted January 4, 2023 Report Posted January 4, 2023 LAHORE: The bogies imported from China at a cost of $149 million are unable to run on Pakistani tracks, raising questions about the efficiency and competence of officers who inspected them in China. Sources told The Express Tribune that they needed to spend hundreds of thousands of rupees just to make the said bogies operational. They also said that the maintenance work was being conducted at the Ski Line of Pakistan Railways. However, they pointed out that due to improper pressure pipes, there was a risk of accidents since the brakes would not work properly. Keeping in view all of these problems, the administration started the installation of two to two-and-a-half inches of thick pipes in the bogies here in Pakistan. These bogies were previously fitted with a 20-inch pipe. Chief Mechanical Engineer Mohammad Haseeb said that the bogies were being technically fitted. Quote
