No kids kabatti 1bd apt is enough.. live close to the train station and take train to work… should be good with enough savings.. Chicago lo jobs kuda bagane untaayi.. but you have to bear the terrible winter..

Chicago is 3rd largest city in terms of population and growth wise...so plenty of jobs. If you loose one, u can find another job in chicago itself. Naperville/Aurora is now popular among desis....any apartment/town house closer to metra train station is always expensive. So if u have car, u can look little away from station and park your car there and take metra.

Nobody in chicago drive to downtown for office......may be once in a while, but usually nobody does this...big city traffic is no exception for chicago...rush hr traffic + expensive downtown parking (like any city). So take metra or if u want to live within downtown area, then no need to have car.

issues living in chicago is winter will be harsh, but someone moving from cold places ki not a big deal....IL has state tax of 5% on our income..so u r moving from states like TX etc, then this will add up.

rest of other things like real estate (rent or own) is moderate. If u compare with top 10 cities in US, chicago may be 10 or not even in the list in terms of real estate prices....harsh winter is one of the reason anukunta...anduke mari over high ki velladu and completely crash avvadu.

like any other city, covid/inflation valla rents increased...but still cheaper than other top 9 cities

stay in suburbs like Arlington Heights.  Take train to downtown. You can get one bedroom apartment around 1500 in Hancock square and station is just 2 min walk.

Naaku Kansas gurunchi Thelidu pedhaga, but from what others said , even though you don’t save much when compared Kansas, I would vote for Chicago. Lovely place. Enjoy chesthav. Naperville side untey schools are very good.

Gary is further south of Chicago…Indiana border. Puli bonu lo velli thoda kodtha ante, ah puli nee thoda n peeka rendu korikesthadi. South side and ah surrounding areas lo vellatam kuda same
