Approximately 10% of NRI marriages end up in a divorce. Divorce in India means that the husband will be harassed and beaten up in the police station whether he is at fault or not. So there is a 10% chance of you getting beaten up. Marrying someone here will mean that there is a 50% chance of divorce and half your property being given to the wife. So either you take a huge hit financially or take a hit financially and get beaten up as a bonus. Nowadays, it is like gambling. You will lose at some point. There is no misery in avoiding that.
