Validation emundi.. these awards are global and are more popular.. any artist needs more reach to new sets of audiences.. whoever wins such an award will get more popular and his art will be more sought out..

Of course, We need validation from West in terms of development, Cleanliness, Money, Technology technical expertise in movie making, infra, military etc., Those who say "they don't need" Western validation, as long as India is poor & have present day politicians. Chinese don't need western validation because their success story in the past 30 years is nothing short of inspirational. 

Looks these awards are bought by money & lobbying.

Mana desis ala chestunnaru baa NYE vallu praise  chesaru kabbate great annattu. But we know SSR brand even if he got local award still we enjoy. This is just tip anthe and better reach ani na opinion. He deserves every bit of it kani mana desis athi ekkuva anpichndi observer cheste.

It is common to own it if someone from our country or region achieve something great… if they do a bad thing, we disown them.. we Telugu people will have to add the caste also to it.. caste slavery trumps everything else..

This is problem with we indians we always see ourselves under someone never see ourselves great, appreciating other visionary work is appreciated but keeping yourself too much humble is not actually healthy.. I hope we come out of this mindset of underestimating ourselves soon...
