My guess is that Tesla sees a dire forecast and reacted fast - because they can and adjust the price, ability to produce the cars as needed ( 2 giga factories ramping up ) .. many thinks it's a master stroke where it not only protects Tesla balance sheet but also kills competition. If economy tanks, no one can help but Tesla will have a huge front load of orders - they take a majority of shrunken pie ( > 45k $ car market) . Quote
