They say give time to settle in - still let me go. Shocker .. life moves on starting job search now. Anta Assamey Posted January 20, 2023 Report Posted January 20, 2023 Got a bunch of text messages at 5AM today and got up to see what all the commotion was. Got locked out of all my corp stuff and got email in personal about the layoff, and severance. Honestly I was a bit relieved at the news because my manager was getting quite toxic and I was planning to quit anyway. Severance is 2 months WARN + 16 weeks + 2 weeks for each year of employment, which is longer than I was planning to stay. I met my future wife at Google, which made all of it worth it for me. Also made plenty of friends that I probably would not have otherwise, so I won't have to be funemployed alone. Probably going to take a bit of a break since there are going to be tons of people applying and not many jobs right now. I am a US citizen so there is no urgency. Quote
