JollyReddy Posted January 27, 2023 Report Posted January 27, 2023 There are three salutes in India: This is the salute that the Army, the Central Armed Police Forces, the State Police Forces, the NCC, and any other uniformed personnel not mentioned use this salute! This is the Navy and The Coast Guard Salute. This is used by both of these and any uniformed sea-faring service. Finally, this is used only by the Air Force Finally; THE MOST IMPORTANT!! Civilians are not allowed to salute the flag. They are supposed to be standing at attention. In fact, no person without uniform is allowed to salute the flag. Even people with uniform should have a cover(headgear) to salute the flag. However, this civilian rule is not enforceable and many people ape the uniformed personnel in their salutes. BUT CIVILIANS SHOULD NOT SALUTE THE FLAG, INSTEAD STAND AT ATTENTION. 1 Quote
