ANR and NTR banned her from their movies for a long time as she refused to "cooperate" especially with ANR.  She mentioned in multiple interviews regarding this.  Anyway, RIP.  Good actress.  Missamma/Mooga manasulu etc. in early years and later Collector Janaki/Pandanti Kaapuram etc.

సీనియర్ నటి జమున (86) నేడు కన్నుమూశారు. హైదరాబాద్‌లోని తన స్వగృహంలో తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారు.

 

 

హైదరాబాద్ : సీనియర్ నటి జమున (86) నేడు కన్నుమూశారు. హైదరాబాద్‌లోని తన స్వగృహంలో తుదిశ్వాస విడిచారు. 1936 ఆగస్ట్ 30న హంపిలో జమున జన్మించారు. 1953లో పుట్టిల్లు సినిమాతో జమున సినీ ఆరంగేట్రం చేశారు. తెలుగు, కన్నడ, తమిళ, హిందీ సినిమాల్లో నటించారు. ఉదయం 11 గంటలకు ఫిలిం ఛాంబర్‌కు జమున పార్థీవ దేహాన్ని తీసుకురానున్నారు. సత్యభామ పాత్ర ఆమెకు బాగా గుర్తింపు తెచ్చిపెట్టింది. మిస్సమ్మ సినిమా జమున సినీ కెరీర్‌కు మంచి టర్నింగ్ పాయింట్‌గా నిలిచింది. తెలుగులో దాదాపు 150కి పైగా సినిమాల్లో నటించారు. సంతోషం, మిస్సమ్మ, చిరంజీవులు, తెనాలి రామకృష్ణుడు, దొంగరాముడు, బంగారు పాప, వద్దంటే డబ్బు, చింతామణి, భూకైలాస్‌, భాగ్యరేఖ, గుండమ్మకథతోపాటు పలు హిట్‌ చిత్రాల్లో నటించారు. 2008లో ఎన్టీఆర్‌ నేషనల్‌ అవార్డు అందుకున్నారు. 1964, 1968లో ఉత్తమ సహాయ నటిగా జమునకు ఫిల్మ్‌ఫేర్‌ అవార్డులు అందించారు. 1989లో రాజమండ్రి కాంగ్రెస్‌ ఎంపీగా జమున విజయం సాధించారు.
