I know one uncle (parent of US citizen). His GC got revoked at POE by CBP officer for overstaying beyond 12 months.

i think its all about the immigration officer at entry. few might say that you are not residing in country and try to revoke gc . but you have the right to hear the case before a judge. so need not accept whatever the officer says.
