Local govt's have very little control The local taxes are very important for the upkeep of public schools 1 Quote

That is not all of NJ, except NE part of the state its really green and beautiful. Yes the infrastructure is old but every town in NJ has distinctive characteristic its own little downtown(with lots of local flavors), some other New England states are similar as well. One thing I personally observed is people come to Jersey City esp. Journal Square and start judging, Every major city have lot worse neighborhoods than that(not even close) but the difference is desis don't live there because they are not economically vibrant etc. Take a train to downtown of JC, Its better and vibrant than major cities like Houston, LA and Dallas, its very expensive as well(1B1B can set you back upto 5k pm) 1 Quote

Which is still high. Quote
